Today I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite blogs: bastisRIKE. Why did I choose this blog to be the first one to be featured on MINA MOKA? Well, first of all there are lots of blogs out there that have thousands of followers and that you probably know already or will find out about soon. And then there are those blogs that are not completely unknown but deserve to be known by many more people (I think). And bastisRIKE by designer and photographer Henrike Schoen is one of them.

Second of all Rike´s blog made me become a reader of blogs in general because it was the first one I followed regularly, so it was (among others) the blog that made me start a blog as well.

I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a stamp that I could use for designing my wedding invitation. I wanted an element that could be added to each invitation individually. I thought a stamp that I could put on each invitation would be a nice idea. I knew that I wanted a garland on the invitation and when I found Rikes online shop I ordered one of her garland stamps:

Her shop led me to her blog and I couldn´t stop reading because she is not only sharing her work processes with her readers but also the beautiful pictures she takes on walks with her dog Basti (as in bastisRIKE!)

It is obvious that she has an eye for the details in life and if you look at her photos you can notice how they inspire her own work as a designer - which is fascinating to see, I think.

I hope these impressions of her work made you curious enough to take a look at Rike´s blog

By the way - in the end I didn´t even use te stamp I bought from her for the wedding invitation because it was too big for my purpose. Instead I´m writing about her today - while at that time I wasn´t even thinking of having a my own blog one day. Funny, the directions our lives take sometimes, don´t you think?

Funny when you find the source of Pinterest images through a blog post. I have seen some images of Rike's blog but did not know (honestly speaking investigate) where they were from. So, thanks for introducing her, I have bookmarked her already! Happy Boot camp, Lena.
