DIY TEMPORARY TAPE STATEMENT

I spent a little too much time in my kitchen last weekend, that´s how I came up with this little diy project. I have an old gas kitchen stove with a top that you can lift up. The white blank space looking at me every day lookes a little like a white board  - so I decided to use it as one.

There are hundreds of nice quotes that deserve to be shouted out into the world with the help of some pink washi tape for some time. I guess most of you don´t have that kind of top on your stove, but any blank space is fine.

If you´re smart (not like me) you will also use a pencil to sketch the letters first. I wasn´t really planning what I was doing and thought it couldn´t be so hard but ended up peeling off the tape several times because the word "therefore" was indeed much longer than I thought it was. That "f" still had to be squeezed in but I will just argue that I did it on purpose!

I actually cheated a bit on this one. I am not a very good and passionate cook. I just liked the twisted quote that popped up in my mind. Pinterest boards full of humorous and wise quotes are a great source, too. (in case my mind isn´t around, haha!)

Another good place for a temporary tape statement would be the bathroom, I think. Something uplifting that makes you smile when you look in the mirror for the first time in the morning. Any suggestions? I just found one I really like yesterday on Illustrator Akkie Bosje´s blog. And I had a postcard on my desk for years that said: "I decided to be very talented from now on"  - to remind me not to take myself too seriously when I was working on something.

So...what are your favorite quotes? And where would you place your temporary tape statement?

Cute idea! I've been thinking of painting an old door with chalkboard paint. A saying that recently inspired me: "When you want something all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Nice to know isn't it.=)

I also have a tin of chalkboard paint waiting to be used... You´re right - in good times it feels like your quote could actually be true!
