This week an exhibition about the German record label ECM opened at the Haus der Kunst in Munich: ECM - A Cultural Archaeology
Reading some more about that exhibition I found out about Barbara Wojirsch who was responsible for the design of the ECM record covers for 25 years from 1970 on. Mixing handwriting and fonts, photographs and drawings she transformed those record covers into pieces of art:

The ECM record covers continue to be outstanding and unique. They have a huge fanbase all around the world. In fact there is even a ECM flickr group with more than 750 members and around 8500 photographs for photos "which would grace an ECM cover". Amazing where some research gets you sometimes...
