LAST MINUTE MINI LOVEBOOK DIY

Happy Valentine's Day!

Even though I actually don't really celebrate this day I wanted to contribute a little DIY for today or ANY OTHER DAY!

All you need for the mini lovebook is a sheet of paper, scissors, some crayons (or watercolors, or washi tape, or something to make a collage, or just a pen to write a little loveletter) and (I forgot that in the photo!) your favourite lipstick.

You fold the paper in half on the horizon first, then the other way in half and then again into the middle so you have 8 rectangles. Then cut your paper in the middle (on the horizon, but only along two rectangle-sides), stand it up like in the picture below and fold it into a mini book.

The instruction I used - which is a little more detailed than mine - can be found here.(click on the image to enlarge)

Now you have your book. Time to get creative and fill the blank pages! My little color + kiss-poem is just one example. I made another one once where I wrote and drew small things I liked (coffee, apples, paper boats...and you!). Anything goes!

It can be done in 5 minutes and I'm sure you have all the supplies at home already. So you're still in time for your last minute valentine's gift! If you decide to make a mini book today or any other day I'd be happy if you send me a picture of it or the link to your post in the comment section! I'd love to see what others come up with.

I once took part in a bookbinding workshop where we learned this technique. It's so much fun. I actually have a draft post for my blog using the technique to make a Museum Spotters Notebook :-) I really LOVE your idea for it though, what a nice little Valentines idea!!

Thank you, Hema and Jenni, I really appreciate your kind comments - somehow there were no reactions to my little DIY here and I was starting to think that it was ridiculous or just boring ;)
Jenni, turn that draft into a post, I'd love to see it!

This is so sweet. Such a nice idea also as gift tag. :)
