MIO KARO BY CAROLINA MELIS

Inspired by a carpet she had bought in Sardinia, director and illustrator Carolina Melis proposed a short film about three competing weavers from Nule, Sardinia to the Institute of Ethnography in Sardinia in 2010.

The result was not only the film Le fiamme di Nule, it was also the beginning of the story of MIO KARO, a recentry launched collection of rugs and wall hangings. Hand made in Sardinia, inspired by traditional motifs and designed by Carolina Melis. A perfect example of traditional craftsmanship meeting contemporary design.

@Tina: I read about Mio Karo launch on a couple of blogs - and was so surprised that nobody (I know of) mentioned the wonderful movie that came first - glad you agree with me on this one!

@owl's house london: it's so special, isn't it?

@mel: OH, I'm happy I could spread some LOVE all the way to New Zealand here! ;)
